This tool finds the average file size of all files within a folder, then checks how much each file deviates from that average size and flags those which fall outside a defined range.
This is useful for checking the outputs of rendered sequences to see if individual frames didn't fully render.
Press the Select Folder button to choose a folder on your hard drive.
Select either the Percent Delta or the Standard Deviation radio buttons. Only one can be used at a time, but both values will be calculated and shown.
Press the Execute button
For this example I pointed it at a folder full of photography and used the Standard Deviation setting.
The average file size is ~6.6 MB, and the standard deviation is ~1.4 MB.
Files with a size 1.4 MB higher or lower than 6.6 are highlighted, and their delta is listed.
The table can be sorted by any column, bringing the outliers to the top.
Let's change the settings to use Percentage instead of Standard Deviation. That way I can fine tune the threshold to flag only a few files. Setting a percentage of 40 shows files with deltas greater than 2.6 MB.
